USA: Joy Of Music Statue in Holland, Michigan

This “Joy of Music” statue is located in the Alpenrose Park at the corner of 8th street and Central Avenue in Holland, Michigan. The statue was created by George Lundeen and features three musicians and two children singing. There is also classical music playing in the background in the little park.The bronze sculpture is one of 21 such statues at various public and private locations throughout the US.  The artist included himself in the sculpture as the bass player. The other figures were also modeled by his family and friends. You can find more information about the sculpture and its creator here.The statue is dedicated to Edgar D. Prince, a wealthy industrialist who helped to preserve downtown Holland. He died in 1995.Holland is a coastal city in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, US. It is close to Lake Michigan, one of the great lakes.  It was founded by Dutch Americans and celebrates its Dutch heritage with a Tulip Festival in May and various Dutch-themed attractions.

USA: Seagulls at Traverse City Beach

Panorama taken in the beach area of the Keith J. Charters Traverse City State Park, a 47-acre state parke in Traverse City, Michigan.  The beach is on lake Michigan, one of the great lakes.  There are many seagulls on the beach which where flying across at the time of this panorama making for a spectacular photo.Traverse city is the largest city in the Northern Michigan region and is a popular toursist destination.

Although you would not normally expect waves on a lake shore, lake Michigan is so big that it generates waves.Traverse city is the largest city in the Northern Michigan region and is a popular toursist destination.

View of  Macinac Bridge from Bridge View Park in Point St Ignace. Mackinac Bridge is a suspension bridge over the Straits of Mackinac which connects the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan, USA.  5 Miles in length, for decades, the bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world. This photo was taken from the upper peninsula. When you cross, you enter the lower peninsula through Mackinaw City.The Straits of Mackinac connects two of the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.

USA: Sunset and moonrise over Mackinac Bridge

Shortly after we experienced a stunning sunset over Mackinac Bridge from Mackinaw city, the moon rose on the opposite side of the straits creating a beautiful view of the last rays of sunshine combined with a full moon rising out of the water.Mackinac Bridge is a suspension bridge over the Straits of Mackinac which connects the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan, USA.  5 Miles in length, for decades, the bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world. USA: Oval Beach

Oval beach is on Lake Michigan by Saugatuck in Michigan, USA. It is a beautiful sandy beach with fine white sand. The water is here is actually a lake, but due to the size of the lake it has waves like a sea.  Lake Michigan is one of the Great Lakes.In summer, this is a very popular beach with families and gays alike. It is considered on one of the best Gay beaches in Michigan.

This panorama was taken by the Kalamazoo river in Saugatuck in Michigan, USA. From here, you can take the Mount Baldhead park trail to lake Michigan on the other side of the hill.
